First reading Acts 16:11-15
The Lord opened Lydia’s heart to accept what Paul was saying
Responsorial Psalm 149:1-6,9
The Lord takes delight in his people.
or
Alleluia!
Sing a new song to the Lord,
his praise in the assembly of the faithful.
Let Israel rejoice in its Maker,
let Zion’s sons exult in their king.
Let them praise his name with dancing
and make music with timbrel and harp.
For the Lord takes delight in his people.
He crowns the poor with salvation.
Let the faithful rejoice in their glory,
shout for joy and take their rest.
Let the praise of God be on their lips:
this honour is for all his faithful.
Gospel John 15:26-16:4
The Spirit of truth will be my witness
Jesus said to his disciples:
The joy of witnessing
In today’s gospel, Jesus said, “You too will be witnesses.” As Christians, witnessing is an integral part of who we are and a core responsibility. Our faith is not merely about following rules and regulations; instead, it involves sharing our faith through concrete acts of love and service. It is about sharing the joy of our friendship with Jesus, and spreading hope. In fact, we are “walking advertisements,” making the invisible God visible.
Today, let us share the joy of our faith with those around us – at home, at work, in the neighbourhood, at school, and on social media. May we witness Jesus and His love wherever we are, exemplifying His presence through our words and actions.
Reflective question:
How can I give witness to Jesus’ presence today?
