First reading Daniel 7:9-10,13-14

His robe was white as snow

As I watched:

Thrones were set in place

and one of great age took his seat.

His robe was white as snow,

the hair of his head as pure as wool.

His throne was a blaze of flames,

its wheels were a burning fire.

A stream of fire poured out,

issuing from his presence.

A thousand thousand waited on him,

ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him.

A court was held

and the books were opened.

I gazed into the visions of the night.

And I saw, coming on the clouds of heaven,

one like a son of man.

He came to the one of great age

and was led into his presence.

On him was conferred sovereignty,

glory and kingship,

and men of all peoples, nations and languages became his servants.

His sovereignty is an eternal sovereignty

which shall never pass away,

nor will his empire ever be destroyed.

Gospel Mark 9:2-10

This is my Son, the Beloved

Jesus took with him Peter and James and John and led them up a high mountain where they could be alone by themselves. There in their presence he was transfigured: his clothes became dazzlingly white, whiter than any earthly bleacher could make them. Elijah appeared to them with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus. Then Peter spoke to Jesus: ‘Rabbi,’ he said ‘it is wonderful for us to be here; so let us make three tents, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.’ He did not know what to say; they were so frightened. And a cloud came, covering them in shadow; and there came a voice from the cloud, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved. Listen to him.’ Then suddenly, when they looked round, they saw no one with them any more but only Jesus.

As they came down from the mountain he warned them to tell no one what they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead. They observed the warning faithfully, though among themselves they discussed what ‘rising from the dead’ could mean.

Reflection
Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14, Mark 9:2-10

“The transfiguration moments in our journey”
As we celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration, let us focus on the three disciples, Peter, James and John. At this stage of their following of Jesus, they were full of fear and uncertainty of where the path would take them as they drew near to Jerusalem. If Jesus, their Master, would suffer and die as He had predicted, what would happen to them? We can perhaps identify with these disciples. These months of the pandemic have been causing many of us to be anxious and uncertain. Like these disciples, we seem to live in darkness and do not know what will happen next.

On that mountain, Peter, James and John received the light of consolation and hope that they badly needed when they witnessed God’s presence shining through Jesus and heard His voice speaking those comforting words, “This is my Son, the Beloved. Listen to him”. As we reflect on this passage, Jesus wants to reassure us that we are never alone in the dark moments of fear, sadness, anxiety and failure. There will always be grace-filled moments in which we will experience the light of His love and comfort as well as listen to His voice that guides
us.

“Detik-detik perubahan dalam perjalanan hidup kita”
Saat kita merayakan Pesta Yesus menampakkan kemuliaanNya, marilah memberikan fokus kepada tiga orang rasul, Petrus, Yakobus dan Yohanes. Pada tingkat perjalanan mereka mengikuti Yesus, mereka dipenuhi dengan ketakutan dan ketidakpastian jalan mana yang harus mereka ikuti ketika mereka mendekati Yerusalem. Sekiranya Yesus, Guru mereka, akan menderita dan mati seperti yang telah diramalkan, apakah yang akan terjadi pada mereka? Mungkin kita dapat melihat diri kita dalam diri para rasul ini. Pandemik yang berlaku telah menyebabkan ramai diantara kita merasa bimbang dan tidak yakin. Seperti para rasul ini, kita seperti hidup dalam kegelapan dan tidak tahu apa yang akan berlaku seterusnya.

Di atas gunung tersebut, Petrus, Yakobus dan Yohanes menerima cahaya penghiburan dan harapan yang sangat mereka perlukan ketika menyaksikan kehadiran Tuhan yang bersinar melalui Yesus dan mendengar suaraNya berbicara kata-kata yang menghiburkan, “Inilah Anak yang Ku kasihi. Dengarkanlah Dia.”.

Saat kita merenungkan petikan ini, Yesus ingin memberi keyakinan kepada kita bahawa kita tidak pernah berjalan sendirian pada saat kegelapan hidup kerana ketakutan, kesedihan, kebimbangan dan kegagalan kita. Akan selalu ada saat-saat penuh rahmat di mana kita akan mengalami terang kasihNya dan penghiburan serta mendengarkan suaraNya yang membimbing kita.

Penampak Tuhan.
Daniel 7:9-10,13-14
Mark 9:2-10

‘Awak penampak dalam pejalai kitai.’
Dalam pengerami gawai Penampak Tuhan, aram kitai beratika tiga iko murid, Peter, James enggau John. Lebuh nitih ka Jesus, sida balat takut sereta irau ati enda nemu tunga pejalai ti deka nyadi laban sida udah semak Jerusalem. Enti Jesus, ti pengajar sida deka merinsa sereta mati nitih ka dipadah Iya empu, nama penyadi sida deh? Kitai uliu ngasaika diri baka bala Murid tu. Sepemanjai pengerekai igi penyakit Covid tu ngasoh kitai takut sereta irau ati. Kitai ngasai diri enda nemu sereta tusah ati baka bala Murid Jesus.

Ba atas bukit ti tinggi nya, Peter, James enggau John nerima terang pengalit ati enggau pengandal lebuh sida empu meda Allah Taala manchar nengah Jesus sereta ninga sada nyawa Iya bejako, “Tu Anak di Kerindu aku. Dinga ka Iya”.

“人生旅途中转化的那一刻”

当我们庆祝耶稣显圣容的当儿，让我们把焦点放在三个门徒身上，伯多禄、雅格伯、若望。在此阶段的他们，跟随耶稣是一个未知数。他们充满恐惧及疑惑。他们不晓得摆在前面的耶路撒冷是一个怎样的局面。如果耶稣，他们的主人，真如祂所预言，祂会面临死亡，那他们怎么办？
也许我们可以从这些门徒身上做个对照。这数个月的疫情，让好多的我们感到恐惧和疑惑。犹如门徒们一样，活在黑暗中，不晓得明天是晴是雨。
在山上，伯多禄、雅格伯、若望，他们感受到安慰及希望。他们见证了天主的临在。那是通过发光的耶稣及天主安慰的话语：“这是我的爱子，你们要听从他！” 这些显现都是他们目前迫切需要的。
当我们反思这篇福音时，耶稣要再次肯定我们，我们并不是独自一人品尝恐惧、悲伤、焦虑和失败。恩宠的充满将常常存在。我们会体验到祂的慰籍和爱，也会听到祂指引我们的声音。

今天，耶稣给我的信息是什么呢？
