CHANCERY NOTICE
BANNS OF SACERDOTAL ORDINATION
Having consulted the College of Consultors, His Grace Most Reverend Archbishop John Wong Soo Kau, DD has agreed to ordain Deacon Jerry Joseph Muhamat to the Sacred Order of Presbyter on Jun 7 2024 at 10.00 AM in Sacred Heart Cathedral, Kota Kinabalu.
Deacon Jerry Joseph Muhamat is from Good Shepherd Church, Manggatal. He completed his ecclesiastical studies in Philosophy (2017-2018) at College General Major Seminary, Penang and in Theology (2019- April 2023) at St Peter’s College Major Seminary, Kuching, Sarawak.
He was assigned to do Pastoral Immersions in the following places:
2019 (Jan) – St. Peter, Kudat, 2020 (Jan) – St. Peter Claver, Ranau , 2021 (Jan – May) St. John, Tuaran 2022 (Jan – May) Sacred Heart Cathedral, Kota Kinabalu, 2023(Jan) St. Catherine of Siena, Inanam , 2023 (June – present) Blessed Sacrament Church, Labuan.
Catholics are obliged to reveal any impediments or circumstances that would prevent Deacon Jerry Joseph Muhamat from entering the Sacred Order and should contact the parish priest or Archbishop John Wong with such information (Canon Law 1043).
The publication of these banns fulfill the canonical requirement of Canon Law 1051 2°.
