Bapa Suci menggalakkan pendalaman iman dan persekutuan untuk membina perpaduan Kristian

Dalam ucapannya yang dikongsikan dengan para peserta di Perhimpunan Dunia Keempat Forum Kristian Global yang berlangsung di Accra, Ghana, Bapa Suci Fransiskus menggalakkan semua orang untuk memperdalam iman mereka dan menghidupkan semula kasih sayang persaudaraan, mencerminkan perpaduan di mana orang Kristian dipanggil semasa mereka membincangkan cabaran yang dihadapi masyarakat Kristian sejagat.

Bapa Suci Fransiskus telah menghantar ucapannya kepada peserta yang bertemu untuk Perhimpunan Dunia Keempat Forum Kristian Global dari 15 hingga 20 Apr di Accra, Ghana. Perhimpunan global itu menghimpunkan penganut Kristian dari seluruh dunia, dari pelbagai tradisi untuk masa doa, penyembahan, dialog dan misi istimewa.

Tema, “That the World May Know,” akan meneroka cara memberi kesaksian tentang Kristus di dunia hari ini untuk mengisytiharkan lebih baik kasih dan kebenaran Yesus Kristus kepada bangsa-bangsa, dengan tujuan “bersama-sama, mari kita membuat perubahan untuk kemuliaan Tuhan.”

Mozek iman yang indah

Sambil menyatakan “salam ikhlas” beliau kepada semua orang yang berkumpul, Bapa Suci memuji kepelbagaian global yang hadir mencerminkan “mozek indah Kristian kontemporari” dan berkongsi identiti bersama sebagai pengikut Yesus Kristus.

Uskup Agung Flavio Pace, setiausaha Dicastery untuk Mempromosikan Perpaduan Kristian, membacakan kata-kata Bapa Suci diikuti dengan ucapannya sendiri sebagai peserta pada mesyuarat itu.

Terpanggil kepada perpaduan dan kasih sayang

Menyentuh tema, “supaya dunia tahu” (Yohanes 17:23b), Bapa Suci berkata orang Kristian dipanggil “untuk mewujudkan kesatuan dan kasih Tuhan Tritunggal dalam kehidupan peribadi dan gerejawi supaya mereka memberi kesaksian kepada dunia yang berparut oleh perpecahan dan persaingan.”

Ekumenisme terikat dengan misi

Perpaduan adalah kunci “untuk menerima visi Kerajaan Tuhan,” Bapa Suci menekankan, dan ini memerlukan “ikatan intrinsik antara ekumenisme dan misi Kristian.” Bapa Suci menyatakan sumbangan penting Forum Kristian Global telah dibuat dalam sejarah 25 tahunnya dengan menyediakan ruang di mana ahli-ahli ungkapan sejarah yang berbeza dalam kepercayaan Kristian boleh “berkembang dalam saling menghormati dan persaudaraan dengan bertemu antara satu sama lain dalam Kristus.”

Kesimpulannya, beliau berdoa agar pertemuan itu dapat memperdalam iman mereka, menghidupkan semula kasih sayang persaudaraan semasa mereka berdoa bersama, berbincang dan bertukar pengalaman mengenai cabaran yang dihadapi masyarakat Kristian global.

“Kepada anda semua, saya memohon berkat Tuhan Yang Maha Kuasa, dan berdoa agar perhimpunan itu akan memajukan perpaduan yang nyata di kalangan semua orang Kristian.”

Selepas Uskup Agung Pace membaca mesej Bapa Suci, dia kemudian menawarkan sumbangannya sendiri dalam memberi ucapan kepada para peserta. Menggemakan kata-kata Bapa Suci, beliau memuji “permadani yang kaya dalam Kekristianan, termasuk Ortodoks, Katolik, Protestan, Evangelical, Pentakosta, gereja-gereja Bebas, dan organisasi ekumenikal” yang diwakili pada mesyuarat itu.

Fokus Forum Kristian Global untuk berkongsi “iman yang hidup” dan mempromosikan hubungan di kalangan pemimpin Kristian telah menjadi “alat ekumenikal yang berharga”, kata Uskup Agung Pace, di samping mencari penyelesaian kepada perbezaan doktrin, bertukar-tukar pengalaman iman, mendalami persefahaman bersama, dan mengukuhkan persaudaraan.

Uskup Agung Pace juga menekankan bagaimana saksi Kristian bersama-sama mendedahkan “kuasa mendamaikan Injil” dan perpaduan ini dapat menunjukkan “kuasa iman Kristian yang mengatasi perbezaan manusia, membentuk komuniti saudara dan saudari yang hidup berakar umbi dalam kasih persaudaraan, saling menghormati, dan tujuan bersama.”

Sebagai kesimpulan, beliau teringat bagaimana Gereja Katolik telah terlibat dalam proses sinode yang belum pernah berlaku sebelum ini, “Untuk Gereja Sinode: Perjamuan, Penyertaan, Misi” yang merangkumi beberapa perwakilan persaudaraan yang mewakili pelbagai tradisi Kristian mengambil bahagian dalam sesi pertama Oktober lalu dengan acara yang sama bilangan yang lebih besar dijemput ke sesi pengakhiran Oktober ini. Sambil mengucapkan terima kasih kepada mereka atas penyertaan Sinode mereka, beliau menyatakan bagaimana Syond “menghantar isyarat yang jelas dan boleh dipercayai tentang keinginan untuk mengembara bersama dalam semangat kesatuan iman dan pertukaran hadiah”, menegaskan “apa yang menyatukan orang Kristian adalah lebih besar dan lebih mendalam daripada apa membahagikan mereka.”

Pertemuan di Ghana ini juga “digerakkan oleh semangat sinodaliti,” tambahnya, dan “dengan berdoa dan bekerja bersama, kita boleh mengumpulkan sumber, bakat, dan pandangan kita untuk menangani cabaran bersama dan memajukan Injil secara kolektif.”
