BUKIT PADANG – The Senior Parishioners Ministry of the Church of Mary Immaculate (CMI) here is now officially formed and the first batch of its office bearers were elected at its inaugural meeting at CMI Dec 11.
Datuk Teddy Chin was elected Chairman unopposed. Also elected unopposed were Vice-Chairman Alex Yan, secretary Betty Chong, assistant secretary Emmaneul Kiniun, treasurer Monica Govind, Judy Lo, Ernesto Faurillo and Theresa Goh. Most of the office bearers are retired civil servants.
The Spiritual Adviser of the Ministry is Fr Paul Lo, Rector of the Sacred Heart Parish Cathedral.
Present to oversee the meeting was CMI Pastoral Council Chairlady, Catherine Engsun, assisted by Victoria Voon. They were in the Pro-tem Committee to see to the birth of the Ministry and held the inaugural breakfast fellowship for the seniors Oct 23 in CMI.
The new committee will meet soon to chart its course. Senior parishioners aged 60 and above are encouraged to join by contacting any persons of the above or the CMI office.
