Rt Rev Dato’ Seri Sebastian Francis D.D. Bishop of Penang
My dear Brother Bishop Sebastian, Congratulations on the conferment of the Darjah Gemilang Pangkuan Negeri (DGPN) upon you, in conjunction with the 72nd birthday celebration of Tuan Yang Terutama Yang Dipertua of Pulau Pinang, which carries the title of “Dato’ Seri.”
It is a joyful moment and prompts us to give thanks to the Lord for the leadership you have given and the contribution you have made by your actions to the community and state. Most of all, it mirrors the witness of the faithful People of God in your diocese through their manifold presence and services, with you as their pastor. O rejoice little flock of God with your pastor! (cf. Luke 12:32).
On behalf of my brother bishops and of all the faithful of Malaysia, allow me to congratulate you and bless the name of the Lord together with you. Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for ever more (Psalm 113:2).
