KENINGAU – Empat orang saudara dari Ordo Capuchin Franciscan (OFMCap) melafazkan Kaul Kekal mereka dalam Misa Kudus jam 10 pagi pada 21 Jun 2025 yang dipimpin oleh Uskup Cornelius Piong di Pusat Ziarah Keluarga Kudus, Nulu Sosopon Keningau. Turut membantu dalam Misa ialah Msgr Nicholas Stephen dan Custos Fr Gilbert James OFMCap serta para paderi dari Keuskupan Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan dan Ordo Capuchin Franciscan.

Keempat-empat mereka yang menyerahkan hidup secara kekal kepada Tuhan dalam semangat hidup membiara Fransiskan ialah Br Tony Bingkuan, Br Randall Lee Ken Haw, Br Marthin Bin Steven dan Br Peter Bin Langgayang.

Lebih 500 umat dari pelbagai kawasan serta ahli keluarga, para religius, para paderi dan jemputan dari Malaysia, Filipina dan Singapura hadir dalam Misa tersebut.

Dalam homilinya, Fr Michael Raymond, OFMCap menegaskan bahawa pelafazan Kaul Kekal merupakan satu komitmen sepenuh hati kepada Tuhan yang mengalir daripada rahmat sakramen pembaptisan. Pelafazan ini mencerminkan panggilan hidup religius dalam kesetiaan kepada Injil melalui tiga kaul: ketaatan, kemiskinan dan kemurnian, meneladani hidup Santo Fransiskus dari Assisi.

”Kaul Kekal adalah penyerahan sepenuhnya kepada Tuhan – bukan untuk kemuliaan dunia, tetapi demi kesaksian hidup Kristiani yang radikal,” ujar beliau.

Fr Michael turut mengingatkan para saudara yang melafazkan kaul kekal itu agar sentiasa hidup dalam kerendahan hati dan berserah kepada rahmat Tuhan, terutamanya dalam menghadapi cabaran pelayanan masa depan.

Di dalam ucapannya, Uskup Cornelius mengaitkan momen bersejarah ini dengan peranan penting keluarga dalam menyemai benih iman dan panggilan.

“Nama tempat ini – Keluarga Kudus – bukan kebetulan. Ia dibangunkan sebagai tanda syukur atas sumbangan keluarga kepada Gereja. Dari keluargalah lahirnya para pemimpin, pelayan dan religius,” katanya.

Uskup turut merakamkan penghargaan kepada para penganjur dan seluruh umat yang terlibat menjayakan perayaan ini.

Nancy Joneh, Pengerusi Majlis Pastoral Paroki Katedral Keningau, dalam ucapan mewakili paroki, menyatakan dengan jelas.

“Kami bersyukur kerana Keuskupan Keningau dipilih menjadi tempat pelafazan Kaul Kekal ini. Peristiwa ini telah membangkitkan semangat baharu dalam kalangan umat, khususnya belia, untuk merenung dan menyahut panggilan Tuhan dalam hidup mereka.”

Bagi pihak empat saudara, salah seorang daripada mereka menyampaikan ucapan penghargaan dan kesaksian panggilan.

“Kami di sini kerana doa-doa anda, kerana dorongan keluarga dan teladan umat yang setia. Mohon doakan agar kami tetap setia dalam jalan pelayanan ini, di mana pun kami diutus.”

Bel iau turut menekankan bahawa panggilan mereka adalah respons kepada seruan Tuhan yang disuburkan dalam komuniti, keluarga, dan Gereja.

Dalam ucapannya, Custos Malaysia, Fr Gilbert James OFMCap menyeru umat agar terus menyokong panggilan religius.

“Saudara-saudara ini memilih jalan yang tidak mudah. Tetapi hidup membiara adalah kesaksian tentang kasih Tuhan yang tak bersyarat – dan ini hanya mungkin apabila seseorang menyerahkan seluruh hidupnya kepada Kristus.”

Fr Gilbert turut merakamkan penghargaan kepada Keuskupan Keningau, Uskup Cornelius Piong dan para pemimpin Gereja atas sokongan mereka dalam menjayakan perayaan ini.

Perayaan diteruskan dengan jamuan kasih di Dewan terbuka Pusat Ziarah Nulu Sosopon, sebagai ungkapan kesyukuran dan persekutuan. Umat diajak untuk terus menyokong panggilan hidup membiara dan terus mendoakan agar lebih ramai belia yang berani dan bersedia untuk menyerahkan diri mereka sepenuhnya untuk pelayanan dalam Gereja.
