First reading Hebrews 7:1-3,15-17

You are a priest of the order of Melchizedek, for ever

You remember that Melchizedek, king of Salem, a priest of God Most High, went to meet Abraham who was on his way back after defeating the kings, and blessed him; and also that it was to him that Abraham gave a tenth of all that he had. By the interpretation of his name, he is, first, ‘king of righteousness’ and also king of Salem, that is, ‘king of peace’; he has no father, mother or ancestry, and his life has no beginning or ending; he is like the Son of God. He remains a priest for ever.

This becomes even more clearly evident when there appears a second Melchizedek, who is a priest not by virtue of a law about physical descent, but by the power of an indestructible life. For it was about him that the prophecy was made: You are a priest of the order of Melchizedek, and for ever.

You are a priest for ever, a priest like Melchizedek of old.

The Lord’s revelation to my Master:

‘Sit on my right:

your foes I will put beneath your feet.’

The Lord will wield from Zion

your sceptre of power:

rule in the midst of all your foes.

A prince from the day of your birth

on the holy mountains;

from the womb before the dawn I begot you.

The Lord has sworn an oath he will not change.

‘You are a priest for ever,

a priest like Melchizedek of old.’

Is it against the law on the sabbath day to save life?

Jesus went into a synagogue, and there was a man there who had a withered hand. And they were watching him to see if he would cure him on the sabbath day, hoping for something to use against him. He said to the man with the withered hand, ‘Stand up out in the middle!’ Then he said to them, ‘Is it against the law on the sabbath day to do good, or to do evil; to save life, or to kill?’ But they said nothing. Then, grieved to find them so obstinate, he looked angrily round at them, and said to the man, ‘Stretch out your hand.’ He stretched it out and his hand was better. The Pharisees went out and at once began to plot with the Herodians against him, discussing how to destroy him.

Reflection
Hebrews 7:1-3,15-17; Mark 3:1-6

“To imitate Jesus’ compassionate heart”
In today’s gospel, we see Jesus getting into trouble because of His loving act of healing a man with a withered hand on a Sabbath. For the religious leaders, Jesus broke the law of the Sabbath which stated that there must be no work on such a day. However, for Jesus, the sick person takes precedence over the law. His compassionate heart never stopped to heal, help, serve others in need even on the Sabbath. The gospel states that Jesus was angry at the religious leaders because of their hardness of heart. They were in the synagogue to worship God and rigidly followed rules and regulations, but they closed their hearts to their fellow brother in need. Today, Jesus invites us again to follow the law of love because this is what matters the most.

Question for reflection:
When people look at my life, can they see that I am following the law of love?

“Meniru hati Yesus yang penuh berbelas kasih”
Dalam injil hari ini kita melihat Yesus mendapat masalah kerana tindakan kasih-Nya menyembuhkan pemuda yang mati tangan sebelahnya pada hari Sabat. Bagi pemimpin-pemimpin agama, Yesus melanggar hukum Sabat yang menyatakan bahawa tidak boleh ada pekerjaan pada hari tersebut. Namun bagi Yesus, orang yang sakit perlu diutamakan berbanding hukum. Hatinya yang berbelas kasih tidak pernah berhenti untuk menyembuhkan, membantu, melayani orang lain walaupun pada hari Sabat.
Injil menyatakan bahawa Yesus marah kepada pemimpin agama kerana hati mereka yang keras. Mereka berada di rumah ibadat untuk menyembah Tuhan dan dengan ketat mengikuti segala hukum dan peraturan namun menutup hati mereka terhadap keperluan orang lain. Hari ini Yesus menjemput kita sekali lagi untuk mengikuti hukum kasih kerana inilah yang lebih penting.

Soalan renungan:
Apabila orang lain melihat hidup saya, adakah mereka dapat melihat bahawa saya mengikuti hukum kasih?

Hebrew 7:1-3,15-17; Mark 3:1-6

“Bechuan ka ati Jesus ti bepengasih. “
Dalam Injil ka saritu, kitai meda Jesus kena beduan laban ketegal pengerindu, Iya nyuman ka orang ti mati lengan sepiak ba hari Sabat. Bagi sida tuai pengarap bansa Judah, Jesus udah ngelangar adat hari Sabat ti nagang orang ngereja pengawa maya hari nya. Tang ba Jesus, orang ti sakit patut di dulu ka agi ari megai ukum adat. Ati Iya ti sinu enda badu meri pengerai, penyaup sereta meruan mela orang taja nya hari Sabat.

Injil nusi pasal Jesus ti pedis ka sida pemesai pengarap bansa Judah laban ati sida kieh. Sida datai ngagai balai gempuru nyembah Allah Taala lalu nitih ka adat ti terit, tang ati sida udah kena tutup meri tulong ka orang bukai. Saritu, Jesus ngangau kitai awak nitih ka adat pengerindu laban nya meh utai ti amat beguna bendar.

Lebuh mensia mayuh meda pengidup aku, ulih sida meda aku tu sigi nitih ka adat pengerindu?

省思
《希七：1-3,15-17》
《谷三：1-6》

“效仿富有同情心的耶稣”
今天的福音里，我们看见身陷困境的耶稣，因为祂在安息日以仁爱的心治好了一个患病的人，他有着一只已经枯萎的手。对宗教司来说，耶稣触犯了安息日的戒律，那就是在当天是不可以有任何作为。然而，对耶稣来说，病人康复优先顺序超越了遵守戒律。祂富有同情心的心怀不曾停止为治疗、援助、服务有需要的人们等而行动，就算是安息日当天。

福音有阐明耶稣对于宗教司的心硬感到愤怒。他们住在圣殿里朝拜天主，以及严格地遵守诫命和法令，但是他们却对自己兄弟的需求封闭心胸，甚至是不为心动。今天，耶稣再次邀请我们遵守爱的诫命，因为这才是至关重要的事项。

省思题：
当众人审视我的生命，他们能够察觉到我遵守爱的诫命吗？
