First reading Jeremiah 7:23-28

Here is the nation that will not listen to the voice of the Lord its God

These were my orders: Listen to my voice, then I will be your God and you shall be my people. Follow right to the end the way that I mark out for you, and you will prosper. But they did not listen, they did not pay attention; they followed the dictates of their own evil hearts, refused to face me, and turned their backs on me. From the day your ancestors came out of the land of Egypt until today, day after day I have persistently sent you all my servants the prophets.
  But they have not listened to me, have not paid attention; they have grown stubborn and behaved worse than their ancestors. You may say all these words to them: they will not listen to you; you may call them: they will not answer. So tell them this, “Here is the nation that will not listen to the voice of the Lord its God nor take correction. Sincerity is no more, it has vanished from their mouths.”

Responsorial Psalm 94(95):1-2,6-9

O that today you would listen to his voice! ‘Harden not your hearts.’

Come, ring out our joy to the Lord;
  hail the rock who saves us.
Let us come before him, giving thanks,
  with songs let us hail the Lord.

Come in; let us bow and bend low;
  let us kneel before the God who made us:
for he is our God and we
  the people who belong to his pasture,
  the flock that is led by his hand.

O that today you would listen to his voice!
  ‘Harden not your hearts as at Meribah,
  as on that day at Massah in the desert
when your fathers put me to the test;
  when they tried me, though they saw my work.’

Gospel Luke 11:14-23

Know that the kingdom of God has overtaken you

Jesus was casting out a devil and it was dumb; but when the devil had gone out the dumb man spoke, and the people were amazed. But some of them said, ‘It is through Beelzebul, the prince of devils, that he casts out devils.’ Others asked him, as a test, for a sign from heaven; but, knowing what they were thinking, he said to them, ‘Every kingdom divided against itself is heading for ruin, and a household divided against itself collapses. So too with Satan: if he is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? – since you assert that it is through Beelzebul that I cast out devils. Now if it is through Beelzebul that I cast out devils, through whom do your own experts cast them out? Let them be your judges then. But if it is through the finger of God that I cast out devils, then know that the kingdom of God has overtaken you. So long as a strong man fully armed guards his own palace, his goods are undisturbed; but when someone stronger than he is attacks and defeats him, the stronger man takes away all the weapons he relied on and shares out his spoil.
  ‘He who is not with me is against me; and he who does not gather with me scatters.’

11th March 2021 Thursday 3rd Week of Lent

Reflection
Jeremiah 7:23-28, Luke 11:14-23
“The finger of God working among us.”
The people saw Jesus healing a dumb person, and attributed His good deed to the work of Beelzebul, the prince of devils. They failed to recognise “the finger of God” at work in and through Jesus because they most likely harboured negative judgment of Him. Therefore, all the good things that He did were seen in a rather negative light. However, the opinions of people did not stop Jesus from working for the good of others. We too have experience other people misjudging our good actions and misinterpreted our good intentions. May we not allow disappointment to hold us back but continue, like Jesus, to always do good.

We too sometimes can be prone towards thinking ill of others, instead of seeing the good in them. As we journey through Lent, let us also ask for the openness to see and rejoice in the good that others are doing.

Question for reflection:
Do I see the presence of God at work in the situations and the people around me?

11 hb Mac 2021 Hari Khamis Minggu Prapaska Ke-3

Renungan
Yeremiah 7:23-28, Lukas 11:14-23

10-03-2021 Hari Tiga Minggu Lent Ka-3

Renungan
Ulang Adat 4:1,5-9; Matthew 5:17-19

“Perintah ti pemadu besai:Pengerindu!”
Orang Parisi enggau pemesai pengarap Judah nekan ka ukum adat lebih agi ari utai bukai. Sida ngereja macam atur adat ti enda ngambi kira orang bukai. Tang Jesus, rindu ka Allah Taala sereta mensia mayuh, sereta semua utai bepancur ari pengerindu Iya ti ama keran ka kitai mensia. Nya alai, ba Injil saritu, Jesus ukai datai munaska adat tang ngisi semua utai ti udah dipadah ka sida nabi kelia, ngambi semua bulih pengidup ti belipat-lipat. Enggau bendar, sepemanjai pengidup Iya berengkah ati dua perintah ti besai, rindu ka Allah Taala enggau rindu ka pangan diri lebuh Iya ba genteran bacha bisi nyebut “Semua Adat enggau ajar sida nabi beduduk ba pesan dua iti tu.” (Matthew 22:37-40)

Saritu kitai dikangau awak nikal ngagai pun pengarap kitai, kelebih agi ngisi dua perintah pengerindu ti pemadu besai tu. Kitai meruan ngereja pengawa badas, laban nya sigi patut dikereja. Kitai besembiang, bepasa sereta meri bantu laban nya utai ti patut di kereja kitai. Tang, bisi kitai ngereja semua tu ketegal pengerindu ka Allah Taala sereta pengerindu ka orang ti enggau kitai begulai?

Kati ka nya aku lebih agi berundingka pengawa ti tampak ari luar tauka aku meri awak ka pengerindu Allah Taala sereta ka orang bukai ngerak aku ngereja pemadas?
