INANAM – The St Catherine Pastoral Council with the help of the Youth Ministry successfully organized the first-year anniversary for Fr Sylvester Wong with a grand style on 25 June 2023 at Fr Joseph Dapoz’s Hall.
Rector Fr David Sham with his two other Assistant Priest Fr Mattheus Luta and Fr Postinus Kurup together with almost 300 congregations joined the joyful celebration. Besides songs and dance presented by the local congregations, members of the Filipino and Indonesian communities, whom are also members of the parish’s Caritas Ministry, entertained the audience with their talents of colourful dances and songs presentation.
Prior to the event, the Youth Ministry sought the cooperation from various communities and individuals to sponsor gifts to be given away for lucky participants during the celebration of which they have managed to obtain 70 gifts altogether.
The 70 gifts may not be expensive items but they were good enough to keep all participants to stay together until the end, to not miss a gift in case their names are picked as lucky winners.
At the end of the event, the organizer made a surprise announcement of declaring The King and The Queen of the Night and received surprise gifts from Fr Sylvester Wong.
