THAILAND – Seventy sisters from the Lovers of the Cross of Ubon Ratchathani gathered for a media training seminar that explored “Media Use in the AI Era and Catholic Perspectives,” held at the congregation’s formation center.
Organized by the Lovers of the Cross Sisters, the three-hour seminar aimed to equip participants with a deeper understanding of media tools in light of Catholic values, particularly amid the rise of artificial intelligence and digital platforms.
The training was facilitated through the collaboration with Fr Joseph Anucha Chaiyadej, Director of Catholic Social Communications of Thailand.
In his keynote session, Fr Anucha highlighted the growing influence of social media and emphasized that its expansion cannot be stopped, but instead must be wisely used to serve the mission of religious life, educational institutions, formation programs, and the proclamation of the Good News.
He acknowledged that the media is “like a double-edged sword” but underscored its potential as “a powerful tool when used properly,” enabling access to vast information, enhancing work efficiency, and improving communication.
Still, he reminded the sisters to engage with media “with wisdom and mindfulness, with respect for human dignity, and most importantly, to use media in a way that gives glory and praise to God.”
