Fr Postinus with Members of the Pastoral Council, St Catherine Inanam

ST Catherine Inanam welcomed Fr Postinus Kurup as the new assistant priest for St Catherine Inanam, Good Shepherd Manggatal, Holy Family Telipok and Divine Mercy KKIP with effect from Oct 1. He replaces Fr Mitchelly Kiun, who is transferred to St Peter Kudat.
A simple but meaningful welcoming dinner was organised for Fr Postinus Oct 2. The event, which was held at Fr Dapoz Hall, was attended by members of the Parish Councils, catechists, community leaders and parishioners from the main parish and outstation chapels.
However, parish priest Fr David Sham and assistant priests, Fr Matheus Luta and Fr Sylvester Wong were unable to be at the welcoming dinner. Instead, they had a simple dinner together with Fr Mitchelly Kiun and staff of St Catherine earlier on Sep 29.
Fr Postinus, 46, hails from Paginatan Ranau. He was ordained deacon on 4 December 2010. Exactly one year later, he was ordained priest on 3 December 2011. He was immediately posted to St Peter Kudat and overseeing St Theresa Kota Marudu at the same time for two years before he was posted to St Edmund Kota Belud for five years and two months. He was again posted to St Joseph Kiulu for five years before his current assignment to St Catherine Inanam on 1 October 2022.
At the welcoming event, Fr Postinus entertained the crowd by presenting several songs.
