KEPAYAN — This year, Jul 6, the Parish Day of St Thomas More, Kepayan, was marked with a significant additional figure. Two statues, St Thomas More and St Joseph, were placed in front of the church building.
The blessing of the statues was officiated by Archbishop John Wong during his pastoral visit, the first activity on the list of the items scheduled for the day. He was assisted by Fr Rhobby, Fr Peter Chung, Fr Primus Jouil, and Fr Albet.
Eucharistic celebration was then followed thereafter. During the Mass, 81 candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation, a memorable and sacred moment for the candidates and their families. After the Mass, the confirmation certificate was presented to the new confirmand by Archbishop John.
The archbishop was then accompanied by the parish priest, Fr Rhobby, and members of the Pastoral Council to visit the bazaar and also presented prizes for winners of the Lucky Draw.
