33 maut, 18 hilang selepas rekod hujan Beijing

BEIJING – Tiga puluh tiga orang telah disahkan maut dan 18 masih hilang selepas hujan paling lebat di Beijing dalam rekod, kata pegawai hari ini.

Ibu negara China telah dilanda hujan lebat sejak beberapa minggu kebelakangan ini, merosakkan infrastruktur dan membanjiri kawasan pinggir bandar dan kawasan sekitarnya.

Banjir di wilayah Sichuan di barat daya China turut mengorbankan tujuh orang pada Rabu, lapor media kerajaan.

Pihak berkuasa di ibu negara berkata, pada hari Rabu, 33 maut dalam cuaca buruk baru-baru ini di Beijing, berpunca oleh banjir dan bangunan runtuh, meningkat hampir tiga kali ganda angka yang diberikan oleh pegawai pada Selasa minggu lalu.

“Saya ingin merakamkan ucapan takziah yang mendalam kepada mereka yang meninggal dunia semasa menjalankan tugas dan mangsa yang malang,” Xia Linmao, naib datuk bandar Beijing, memberitahu sidang akhbar, menurut penyiar negara CCTV.

Ramai yang maut dalam banjir di seluruh utara China, dengan pegawai Beijing berkata pada hari Jumaat 147 kematian atau hilang isebabkan oleh bencana alam.

Daripada jumlah itu, 142 disebabkan oleh banjir atau bencana geologi, kata Kementerian Pengurusan Kecemasan China.

Di wilayah Hebei, yang berjiran dengan Beijing, 15 dilaporkan meninggal dunia dan 22 hilang.

Dan di timur laut Jilin, 14 maut dan seorang dilaporkan hilang pada Ahad.

Lebih jauh ke utara di Heilongjiang, media kerajaan melaporkan berpuluh-puluh sungai mengalami peningkatan paras air melebihi “penanda amaran” dalam beberapa hari kebelakangan ini.

“Saya masih berasa takut apabila mengenangkan kejadian banjir baru-baru ini,” kata Zheng Xiakang, seorang pegawai polis dari kampung Jiangxi di wilayah itu, kepada Agensi Berita Xinhua yang dikendalikan kerajaan.

“Dalam menghadapi hujan lebat yang berterusan dan air sungai yang semakin meningkat, akibatnya akan memudaratkan sekiranya kami tidak berjaya memindahkan penduduk kampung dengan tepat pada masanya,” kata Zheng.

Berjuta-juta orang telah terkesan oleh cuaca ekstrem dan gelombang haba yang berpanjangan di seluruh dunia dalam beberapa minggu kebelakangan ini, peristiwa yang dikatakan saintis sedang diburukkan lagi oleh perubahan iklim.

Badai Sichuan

CCTV berkata tujuh orang maut di Sichuan pada hari Rabu dan empat lagi diselamatkan dari air, sambil menambah bahawa “keselamatan awam tempatan, bomba dan jabatan lain terus menjalankan usaha mencari dan menyelamat”.

Kejadian berlaku kira-kira jam 10 pagi berhampiran tambak di barat daya ibu kota wilayah Chengdu, di mana “lebih 10” orang dihanyutkan oleh air pasang yang tidak dijangka, kata media kerajaan.

Mangsa, yang dilaporkan sedang mengambil gambar ketika badai kilat melanda, adalah pelancong yang melawat tapak popular.

Video yang dikongsi oleh CCTV menunjukkan beberapa orang bergelut untuk mengekalkan kepala mereka di atas air apabila arus deras menolak mereka ke hilir dan orang ramai menjerit dari tepi air.

Punca banjir air tidak jelas.

Pihak berkuasa meteorologi di bandar berhampiran Qionglai terus mengeluarkan amaran kuning untuk hujan pada 10:40 pagi pada hari Rabu, menjangkakan kemungkinan hujan “lebih 50 mm” dalam tempoh enam jam seterusnya di bahagian tertentu daerah pentadbiran. – UCA News
