KOTA KINABALU – Easter is the most important feast of the Christian year – so important that the Church sets aside a seven-week season to rejoice in Christ’s victory over sin and death.
To sustain the Easter spirit of celebration, members of the Catholic Women’s League of the Sacred Heart Cathedral (SHCCWL) parish organized an Easter gathering Apr 8. Present at the fellowship meal were Archbishop John Wong, parish priest Fr Paul Lo and the assistant priests of the parish.
Though the fellowship was kept at a simple level allowed during the RMCO, nevertheless the gathering was meaningful as the members treasured the opportunity to celebrate the holiest season of the Church with the Archbishop and all the priests of the Cathedral.
In thanking the Archbishop and the priests for their support and prayers for the SHCCWL, chairlady Anita Tunggolou, on behalf of CWL, pledged to render faithful service to the Church even during difficult times such as presently experienced.
The Archbishop acknowledged and thanked SHCCWL for their service to the Church and for being always ready to come forward to help the Archdiocese and parishes when the needs arise.
