First reading 2 Corinthians 11:1-11

I was careful not to be a burden to you in any way

I only wish you were able to tolerate a little foolishness from me. But of course: you are tolerant towards me. You see, the jealousy that I feel for you is God’s own jealousy: I arranged for you to marry Christ so that I might give you away as a chaste virgin to this one husband. But the serpent, with his cunning, seduced Eve, and I am afraid that in the same way your ideas may get corrupted and turned away from simple devotion to Christ. Because any new-comer has only to proclaim a new Jesus, different from the one that we preached, or you have only to receive a new spirit, different from the one you have already received, or a new gospel, different from the one you have already accepted – and you welcome it with open arms. As far as I can tell, these arch-apostles have nothing more than I have. I may not be a polished speechmaker, but as for knowledge, that is a different matter; surely we have made this plain, speaking on every subject in front of all of you.
  Or was I wrong, lowering myself so as to lift you high, by preaching the gospel of God to you and taking no fee for it? I was robbing other churches, living on them so that I could serve you. When I was with you and ran out of money, I was no burden to anyone; the brothers who came from Macedonia provided me with everything I wanted. I was very careful, and I always shall be, not to be a burden to you in any way, and by Christ’s truth in me, this cause of boasting will never be taken from me in the regions of Achaia. Would I do that if I did not love you? God knows I do.

Gospel Matthew 6:7-15

How to pray

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘In your prayers do not babble as the pagans do, for they think that by using many words they will make themselves heard. Do not be like them; your Father knows what you need before you ask him. So you should pray like this:
 
‘Our Father in heaven,
may your name be held holy,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven those who are in debt to us.
And do not put us to the test,
but save us from the evil one.
 
‘Yes, if you forgive others their failings, your heavenly Father will forgive you yours; but if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive your failings either.’

Reflection
2 Corinthians 11:1-11, Matthew 6:7-15

“Our Father: A prayer to God as His children”
The Our Father prayer is so familiar to us that we often rattle away without reflecting on its meaning. In this time of prayer, let us pay attention to the meaning behind this prayer that Jesus Himself has offered to us in order to grow in our relationship with God our Father and our identity as His children.

The prayer has two parts. In the first part of the prayer, we recognize God to be God. We acknowledge that His name and His presence be respected and loved, His Kingdom of justice and peace to be a reality in our world and that His will for all humanity to live as one will be fulfilled. In the second part, we present to God our petitions. We pray that we may receive from God what we need each day. We pray for forgiveness as well as the merciful heart to forgive others. We pray for strength in face of temptations. Through this prayer, may we place God as the center of our lives today.

Questions for reflection:

“Bapa Kami: Doa kepada Tuhan sebagai anak-anakNya”
Doa Bapa kami menjadi biasa pada kita sehingga kita mengungkapkannya tanpa merenungkan maksud terdalamnya. Pada masa doa ini, marilah memberi perhatian pada maksud disebalik doa yang Yesus sendiri berikan kepada kita agar kita dapat bertumbuh dalam relasi kita dengan Allah Bapa dan identiti kita sebagai anak-anakNya.

Doa ini mempunyai dua bahagian. Pada bahagian pertama, kita menyedari Tuhan sebagai Tuhan. Kita menyedari bahawa nama dan kehadiran-Nya dihormati dan dikasihi, KerajaanNya yang adil dan damai menjadi nyata dalam dunia kita dan kehendakNya agar manusia hidup menjadi satu akan dipenuhi. Pada bahagian kedua, kita mengungkapkan keinginan kita. Kita berdoa agar kita menerima dari Tuhan apa yang kita perlukan setiap hari. Kita berdoa untuk pengampunan serta hati yang berbelas kasih untuk mengampuni orang lain. Kita berdoa untuk kekuatan menghadapi percubaan. Melalui doa ini, semoga kita meletakkan Tuhan sebagai pusat kehidupan kita hari ini.

Soalan renungan:
Di dalam Doa Bapa Kami, frasa manakah yang menarik perhatian saya? Mengapa?

Apai Kami:Sampi kitai ti anembiak Allah Taala.

Sampi Apai Kami nyadi leka sampi ti suah disebut kitai nyentuk ka kitai enda agi belemati ka leka jako sampi nya. Dalam awak sembiang tu, aram kitai berati ka reti sampi ti diberi Jesus ngagai kitai awak ulih dikena kitai mansang dalam agi ba kaul ti terit begulai enggau Allah Taala Apai.

Sampi tu bisi dua bagi. Keterubah,kitai ngaku Allah Taala nya Apai kitai. Kitai ngaku ka Nama Iya sereta angkunka Penatai Perintah Iya ti pebasa sereta dikerindu, Perintah Iya ti meruan ngembuan pengelurus sereta pemaik nyata ba dunya kitai lalu peneka Iya awak semua begempong deka nyadi amat. Ba bagi kedua, kitai nyua peminta kitai ngagai Allah Taala. Kitai besampi awak ulih nerima ari Allah Taala utai ti diguna kitai ninting hari. Kitai besampi ka pengampun penyalah sereta ngembuan ati ti bepengasih ngampun orang bukai. Kitai besampi awak kering napi macam penguji ti datai. Nengah sampi tu kitai betuai ka Allah Taala dalam pengidup kitai saritu.

Ni bagi leka sampi Apai Kami ti narit aku dalam agi?lapa deh?

《玛六:7-15》

“天主经:向天主祈祷”
天主经,这一则祷文,对我们来说是如此的熟悉,我们经常不经意带过而不去思索其中的内涵。在这一次的祷告中,让我们专注于这祷文背后所蕴含的意义,以这一祷文,耶稣给予了我们与天主圣父增进关系的机会,以及得到成为天主子女的身份。

这祷文分成两个部分。祷文的第一个部分,我们意识到了天主就是天主。我们承认祂的圣名,以及祂的临在是受到尊重和钟爱的,祂公义及和平的王国将在这世上实现,祂为全人类活为一体的愿景将得以圆满。祷文的第二个部分,我们向天主呈上了我们的请愿。我们向天主祈求,愿我们每一天从天主那儿得到我们的所需。我们祈求天主的宽恕,同时也请求天主使我们拥有怜悯的心怀去宽恕众人。我们祈求,在面临诱惑时,仍然有能力抵抗。经由这个祷文,愿今时今日的我们让天主成为我们生命的中心。
