Mar 8 2023

KUCHING — A 3-day Life in the Spirit Seminar (LSS) was organised by the Bread of Life Charismatic Covenant Community (BOL) at ACCPC Kuching from 17-19 February 2023 as part of the programme scheduled for the 61 candidates of Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Batch 2022/2023 of St Joseph’s Cathedral, Kuching together with their sponsors and families.

Many were touched by the Holy Spirit during the LSS and here are some sharing from the participants.

Testimonies

With the guidance and prayers (including praise & worship sessions) led by BOL members at the recent LSS seminar that I attended, it gave me the opportunity to experience the Holy Spirit (the Third Person in the Triune God) in a way that I have never felt before. The workings of the Holy Spirit has truly enabled me to have a deeper relationship with our Triune God. I now have greater appreciation for the Eucharist and better awareness of God’s plan of salvation as contained in the bible.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are saved, filled, sealed, and sanctified. There’s always more of His love for everyone, all we need to do is “Ask, Seek, and Knock – Mathew 7:7-12”, and we shall receive it…Alexanda Anak Job @ Hilary

This LSS has opened my mind and my heart on how the Holy Spirit can touch people. I was initially very sceptical, until I witnessed and experienced it for myself. The warm presence of the Holy Spirit during the inner healing session, helped me to open up and share with God my true feelings. I also felt the Holy Spirit inviting me to forgive, to let go of hurts and coming to be at peace with them. The baptism of the Holy Spirit session was also a very emotional experience for me. I came away from the LSS feeling very blessed indeed, having felt the closeness of an infinitely loving God in my heart.

I would like to thank BOL for organising this LSS, and also all facilitators who were there to guide and to accompany us over the weekend…Amanda Marie Anak Rogers

I am so blessed to have joined this LSS. During the inner healing, I saw Jesus Christ coming down from the heaven with bright light. Jesus is alive. I was so happy to be shown that Heaven is real!

During the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I saw Jesus Christ again, together with the Holy Spirit coming towards me. It was so huge with a bright light. It made my heart warm and very peaceful. I felt my body become lighter and I rested in the Spirit. Jesus also revealed my past to me and I cried. After that, my heart was so much lighter with the Holy Spirit living inside my heart. God has never abandoned us. This LSS has deepened my faith…Jassica Kueh

I personally say that it was a life-changing experience. The seminar consisted of various sessions, which included inner healing session, group discussions, and Baptism of the Holy Spirit. During the inner healing session and Baptism of the Holy Spirit, I learned how to quiet my mind and focus on the present moment. It was a valuable lesson for me, as I often find myself lost in my thoughts and worries. The group discussions were enlightening, and I got to hear different perspectives on spirituality from people of diverse backgrounds.

From what I could understand from the seminar was the concept of the life of the spirit, rooted in the idea that there is more to life than the physical and material world that we can see and touch. The life of the spirit is the pursuit of inner growth, spiritual development, and a deeper connection with the divine. It is a path that leads to enlightenment, inner peace, and a sense of purpose and meaning.

Living a life of the spirit is not about escaping from the challenges and struggles of daily life. It is about facing them with a deep sense of purpose and inner strength, and using them as opportunities for growth and transformation. It is about finding meaning and purpose in even the most difficult circumstances, and using those experiences to help others along the path of spiritual growth.

In a nutshell, I can say that this seminar helped me to deepen my understanding of spirituality, and I came away with practical tools to continue my spiritual journey. I would highly recommend this seminar to anyone who is seeking to explore their spirituality and connect with their inner selves…Safri Anak Sri Futimah

Attending the LSS was truly a new experience for me. Initially, I was sceptical and did not know what to expect, but as the seminar progressed, I found myself feeling increasingly drawn to the talks and sessions. The knowledge and faith that the speakers shared enabled me to rediscover my personal relationship with God.

I was truly touched by the testimonies shared by our fellow brothers and sisters and how they overcame their struggles by having faith in our God. One of the most powerful moments for me was the inner healing session where it helped me to find emotional and spiritual wholeness by connecting with God and experience His healing presence. Overall, this seminar has deepened my relationship with God and gained a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to my faith…Valerine Sia Leh Jieh

Throughout the seminar, I have learned a lot about our Lord, how I can experience Christ and Holy Spirit in my life from our Father and Jesus and also the various gifts we can receive from our Father. The most memorable memory for me was when we called upon the Holy Spirit. When our brothers and sisters started singing, I experienced headache and felt pain in my heart. After that, I felt sadness taking control of my emotions. It was like I needed to release all the unhappiness from my body.

Last but not least, it is an honour that I am able to join this seminar and an unforgettable memory that I will carry with me till the day I will join our Creator…Yvonne Ng Kheng Ting

The LSS concluded with Sunday Mass celebrated by Father Nicholas Ng.
