First reading Hebrews 1:1-6

God has spoken to us through his Son

At various times in the past and in various different ways, God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets; but in our own time, the last days, he has spoken to us through his Son, the Son that he has appointed to inherit everything and through whom he made everything there is. He is the radiant light of God’s glory and the perfect copy of his nature, sustaining the universe by his powerful command; and now that he has destroyed the defilement of sin, he has gone to take his place in heaven at the right hand of divine Majesty. So he is now as far above the angels as the title which he has inherited is higher than their own name.

God has never said to any angel: You are my Son, today I have become your father; or: I will be a father to him and he a son to me. Again, when he brings the First-Born into the world, he says: Let all the angels of God worship him.

Responsorial Psalm 96 (97):1-2,6-7,9

All you angels, worship the Lord.

The Lord is king, let earth rejoice,

the many coastlands be glad.

His throne is justice and right.

The skies proclaim his justice;

all peoples see his glory.

All you spirits, worship him.

For you indeed are the Lord

most high above all the earth,

exalted far above all spirits.

Gospel Mark 1:14-20

I will make you into fishers of men

After John had been arrested, Jesus went into Galilee. There he proclaimed the Good News from God. ‘The time has come’ he said ‘and the kingdom of God is close at hand. Repent, and believe the Good News.’

As he was walking along by the Sea of Galilee he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net in the lake – for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, ‘Follow me and I will make you into fishers of men.’ And at once they left their nets and followed him.

Going on a little further, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John; they too were in their boat, mending their nets. He called them at once and, leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the men he employed, they went after him.

11th January 2021 Monday 1st Week of Ordinary Time

Reflection
Hebrews 1:1-6, Mark 1:14-20

“Will you come and follow me?”
Jesus began His ministry by proclaiming the Good News of the gospel. The Good News that Jesus came to reveal is that God is not a severe judge who imposes punishment and rules to follow. Rather, through His words and actions, Jesus spoke of a God who loves unconditionally, and His heart goes out to all, especially the suffering ones. Is this the Good News that we, as Christians, reveal with our words and actions? In the second part of the gospel, we see Jesus walking along the Sea of Galilee to encounter Simon, Andrew, James and John; and lovingly calls them to follow Him and be part of this great mission of proclaiming God’s love. Today, Jesus continues to call us, the young and the old, to follow Him and allow Him to use our lives to bring God’s presence into our world. May we have the courage to answer Him, “Here I am. Use me, Lord, as your instrument”.

Ibrani 1:1-6,
Markus 1:14-20

“Mahukah engkau datang dan mengikuti aku?”
Yesus memulakan ministri-Nya dengan mewartakan Khabar Gembira injil. Khabar Gembira yang diwartakan Yesus adalah bahawa Allah bukanlah hakim yang menjatuhkan hukuman dan memberikan peraturan yang harus dipatuhi. Sebaliknya, melalui perkataan dan perbuatan-Nya, Yesus berbicara tentang Allah yang mengasihi tanpa batas dan hatinya sentiasa tertuju kepada semua orang terutama mereka yang menderita. Sebagai orang Kristian, adakah Khabar Gembira ini kita ungkapkan melalui perkataan dan perbuatan kita?

Pada bahagian kedua injil, kita melihat Yesus berjalan di sepanjang danau Galilea untuk bertemu dengan Simon, Andreas, Yakobus dan Yohanes; dan dengan penuh kasih memanggil mereka untuk mengikuti Dia dan menjadi sebahagian daripada misi besar untuk mewartakan cintakasih Tuhan. Hari ini Yesus terus memanggil, yang muda dan tua, untuk mengikuti dan membenarkan Dia menggunakan hidup kita untuk membawa kehadiran Allah di dalam dunia. Semoga kita memiliki kekuatan untuk menjawab Dia, “Ini aku. Gunakanlah aku Tuhan, sebagai alatmu.”

Hebrew 1:1-6; Mark 1:14-20

“Nuan deka datai lalu nitih ka aku?”
Jesus ngepun ka pengawa Iya enggau nusi Berita Manah pasal Injil. Berita Manah ti dibai Jesus mandangka Allah Taala ukai nyadi hakim ti ngeletak ka hukum berat sereta adat ti terit enda ulih titih. Tang, nengah jako enggau pengawa, Jesus bejako pasal pengerindu Allah Taala ti nadai betakat, lalu pengerindu Iya nuju semua mensia, kelebih agi sida ti merinsa. Bisi tu nyadi Berita Manah ka dipandang kitai orang Kristian, nengah jako enggau pengawa kitai?

Ba bagi kedua Injil, kitai meda Jesus bejalai ba tisi tasik Galilee lalu betemu enggau Simon, Andrew, James enggau John;lalu enggau pengerindu ngangau sida iya nitih ka Iya awak sama bela ngambi bagi dalam Misi ti besai nusi pengerindu Allah Taala. Saritu, Jesus meruan agi ngangau kitai, biak sereta tuai, nitih ka Iya lalu meri awak ka Iya ngena pengidup kitai mai pengasai Allah Taala ba dunya kitai. Awak kitai berani nyaut Iya, “Tu aku ditu. Kena aku Tuhan nyadi perengka nuan”.

Nama pesan Jesus ka aku ba awak sunyi enggau sembiang tu?
