Pope Francis sends a videomessage to the UN organisation, UNESCO, congratulating it for its work in reflecting the Gospel.
Pope Francis has sent a biref videomessage to the “ladies and gentlemen who make up the working community of UNESCO”.
In his message, released on the seventy-fith anniversary of the United Nations Agency, the Pope expresses his congratulations for all the world done. “Indeed, the Church is at the service of the Gospel, and the Gospel is the most humanising message known to history”. This, he continues, is a message of “life, freedom and hope”, which has inspired countless educational initiatives in every age and in every place, and has animated the scientific and cultural growth of the human family.
It is for this reason, concludes the Pope, that the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation is “a privileged partner of the Holy See in the common service to peace and solidarity among peoples, to the integral development of the human person and to the protection of the cultural heritage of humanity”.
