SERIAN — In spite of their heavy schedules, Serian Bukit Semuja (N23) ADUN, YB Tuan John Ilus, Rector of St Peter’s Parish Padungan and former Serian Parish Rector Fr Vincent Chin, Serian Parish Rector Fr Lazarus Swinie, and Mr Felix Wee, accepted the cordial invitations from St Theresa’s Parish Pastoral Council to share their invaluable expertise, experience and knowledge to be her Parish Pastoral Centre Building Committee as Patron, Advisors and Architect respectively.
The St Theresa’s Parish Pastoral Centre Building Committee was thus formed with the following members to administer the project:

Secretary: Wilson Banyui

Committee Members: Joseph Then, Simon Yong, Marianne Lai, Dennis Edwin, Tom Naar, John Sup, Jacquiline Ebby and Danny Jerry.
On 27 July 2023, the Centre Building Committee members led by its Chairman Dennis Sung paid a courtesy call on YB Tuan John Ilus, at his office. The Council Vice Chairman cum Treasurer of the Building Committee, Anthony Taguk briefed YB Tuan John Ilus on the progress of the project and also the fundraising matters on behalf of the Chairman of the Parish Pastoral Council cum Parish Pastoral Centre Building Committee, Dennis Sung.
Dennis Edwin, Chairman of the Special Function Committee of the Parish Pastoral Council also briefed YB John Ilus on the various forthcoming fundraising activities, including the Project Launching 2023, Fundraising Dinner 2024 and Parish Joggerton 2025.
YB Tuan John Ilus was happy with the briefing and gave some constructive and useful suggestions including seeking assistance from UNIFOR.
