Blessed James Alberione can be considered one of the most prolific Founders of institutes of consecrated religious and lay life the Church has ever known. A list and photos follow:
Prompted by the Spirit, Fr. Alberione founded a number of Institutes between 1914 and 1959. Known as the Pauline Family, all are connected to one another by the same spirituality and by a profound bond of communion. Speaking about this intense relationship, our Founder said: “There is a strong family bond among us because we were all born from the Tabernacle. We all share the same spirit, namely: to live Jesus Christ and serve the Church.”
The Pauline Family is made up of five religious Congregations, one Lay Association and four Secular Institutes.
The Society of Saint Paul (20 August 2014), founded at the beginning of World War II to communicate the Christian message with the use of all means that technology put at the disposition of modern man. Pauline priests and brothers mission reaches 40 countries around the world and are active in many fields: editorial and bookstores, journalism, cinematography, television, radio, audiovisual, multimedia, telematics; centres of studies, research, formation, animation.

The Daughters of Saint Paul (15 June 1915), a Congregation of women religious consecrated to God in the Church to evangelize through the instruments of social communication, now present in 50 countries.

The Pious Disciples of the Divine Master (10 February 1924), a Congregation of women religious who are apostles of the Eucharist at the service of the liturgy and the priesthood, present in 30 countries.

The Sisters of Jesus the Good Shepherd (7 October 1938), a Congregation of women religious who share in the pastoral mission of Christ, building up Christian communities in communion with the Pastors of the Church, and in collaboration with those who are dedicated to pastoral care, present in 19 countries.

The Institute of Saint Gabriel the Archangel (8 April 1960), a secular institute of consecrated life for single men, called to spread the message of salvation principally through the apostolate and the spirit of the Society of Saint Paul and the other Congregations of the Pauline Family.
