Uskup memaafkan pesalah laku pecah masuk gereja Keningau

KENINGAU – Uskup Cornelius Piong berkata Gereja Katolik Keuskupan Keningau memaafkan si pesalah laku yang memecah masuk gereja pada awal pagi Khamis lalu kira-kira jam 7.30am sehingga merosakkan beberapa patung dan relik kudus di Katedral St Francis Xavier Keningau (KSFX).

Hasil siasatan lanjut, pihak polis berjaya menangkap seorang lelaki tempatan bersabit kes tersebut. Pesalah laku dipercayai kurang siuman sejak tahun lalu namun tidak pernah menjalani pemeriksaan mental.  

Uskup Piong berkata gereja tidak akan mengambil tindakan undang-undang terhadap pesalah susulan kejadian tersebut.

Katanya kes ini sudah pun berada di bawah seliaan Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Keningau maka gereja menyerahkan sepenuhnya kepada pihak polis untuk tindakan selanjutnya.

“Semua (hal ini) sudah di tangan pihak polis dan kita sudah tahu apa yang terjadi.

“Adakah kita memaafkan dia? Ya sebagai umat Katolik, kita memaafkan.

“Kita perlu mengampuni, mendoakan saudara kita ini. Lebih-lebih lagi kita tahu dia itu bukan normal (secara mental).

“Kita serahkan kepada pihak polis, apa tindakan mereka terhadap dia, terpulang,” ujar Uskup Piong.

Dia berkata ini semasa Sidang Media Khas Keuskupan Keningau berhubung kes tersebut di laman Facebook Diocese of Keningau pada hari ini jam 9.00 pagi.

Di dalam Sidang Media, Uskup Piong disertai oleh Pengerusi Majlis Pastoral Paroki, Nancy Nelly Joneh dan Paderi Pembantu Gereja KSFX, Fr David Gasikol.

Siasatan awal Pejabat Polis Keningau pada pagi 7 Julai

“Jangan cepat buat andaian”

Video dan gambar kejadian pantas tular di media-media sosial dan menerima kritikan daripada umat dan netizen lain, tidak kurang juga yang pantas membuat andaian tidak berasas.

Respon Uskup Piong terhadap kelakuan ini, “Kita perlu tenang.”

“Sebagai umat Ekaristi yang mengenal sifat-sifat Kristus, perlu kita tenang, jangan cepat-cepat buat andaian itu dan ini.

“Lebih baik kalau kita bertanya dulu kepada diri sendiri dalam keadaan seperti ini, apakah mesej dari Tuhan?”

Uskup berkata kejadian ini adalah satu pengajaran.

“Ini satu pengajaran, kita perlu selalu peka terhadap bisikan Tuhan tentang peristiwa- peristiwa yang berlaku di dalam keluarga dan komuniti kita.”

Pemimpin, ambil peduli tentang sekeliling kita

Uskup Piong berpesan kepada pemimpin gereja di dalam dan di luar Keuskupan supaya ambil peduli tentang sekeliling mereka.

“Seperti mana kita sudah didedahkan kepada semangat gereja Sinodal. Semua pemimpin, sama-samalah kita selalu ambil peduli tentang keselamatan bangunan gereja, selain tanggungjawab terhadap umat, sosial, dan rohani. Kita teruskan tanggungjawab kita, ambil peduli. Sikap ini adalah paling diperlukan di dunia kita masa ini.”

Pada hari yang sama, ibu kepada si pesalah laku sendiri telah tampil ke gereja membuat pengakuan mengenai tindakan anaknya.

Uskup Piong berkata, “Kita bersyukur kerana sifat rela si ibu yang mengaku kesalahan anak sendiri. Ini adalah berat bagi seorang ibu, tetapi keikhlasan itu sangat menyentuh.”

Dipercayai keluarga ibu tersebut juga mengalami tekanan stigma daripada komuniti sekeliling kerana orang ramai mulai memperkecilkan keluarga mereka.

Tegas Uskup Piong, “Jangan condemn (mengutuk) sesiapa walaupun perbuatannya menyakitkan hati kita. Kita harus sefikir, sejiwa dan sehati tentang perkara ini.

“KKD di mana keluarga ini berada, tetap beri sokongan (kepada keluarga ini). Orang yang jauh bawa mereka (keluarga) dalam doa, supaya keluarga itu dapat hidup dalam damai dan kasih. Saya harap tiada yang condemn. Berbelas kasihanlah walau apa pun.”

Selepas ini, Keuskupan Keningau akan mengambil strategi pembangunan rohani untuk lelaki tersebut dan keluarganya.

Misa Kudus Koponogitan

Uskup Piong berkata gereja sendiri banyak kelalaian maka gereja perlu melakukan sogit sebagai ungkapan maaf kepada Tuhan kerana kelalaian ini sehingga patung Yesus, Bonda Maria dan relik Hati Kudus pecah.

Umat dijemput menyertai Misa Kudus Koponogitan dan Saat Teduh untuk sogit kerosakan barang kudus pada:

Tarikh: 14 Julai 2022, Khamis

Masa: 7.00 petang

Tempat: Katedral St Francis Xavier, Keningau

Selebran: YM Uskup Datuk Cornelius Piong

 

Membaiki salib Yesus dan kini digantung semula di tempat asal

Keuskupan tidak akan beli Salib / patung baru

Uskup berkata, “Memang Salib sudah pecah, tetapi boleh gam dan Salib sudah digantung balik.

“Kita tidak mahu beli patung baru, sengaja kita kembalikan patung itu di tempatnya untuk mengingati peristiwa ini.

“Saya harap ini membantu kita sedar bahawa kita manusia yang berpecah-pecah, ada penyakit, ada luka, yang perlu disembuhkan oleh kehadiran Tuhan.

“Pandanglah Salib, Bonda Maria dan Hati Kudus Yesus,” katanya.

Salib Yesus sudah tergantung di Gereja KSFX sejak 46 tahun yang lalu semasa bangunan gereja diberkati oleh Uskup Simon Fung pada waktu itu pada tahun 1976.

Manakala relik Hati Kudus dan patung Bonda Maria telah berada di KSFX sejak tahun 2000.
