Rakyat Indonesia menjadi mangsa penipuan ‘duit ajaib’ bomoh

JAWA BARAT – Ibu kepada tiga anak warga Indonesia, Aslem, seorang pembantu rumah di Dubai menjadi mangsa apabila dia mula menyalurkan wang tunai kepada seorang yang mengaku dirinya bomoh, dan percaya bahawa bomoh itu akan menunaikan janjinya untuk melipatgandakan gaji secara ajaib.

Tetapi kepulangannya tahun lalu menjadi kejutan dan menjadi papa kedana apabila mendapati dia telah ditipu oleh bomoh penipu yang kini menghadapi perbicaraan kerana rangakaian penipuannya, dan tuduhan membunuh sembilan mangsanya.

“Saya tidak mempunyai apa-apa sekarang,” Aslem, 42, memberitahu AFP dari rumahnya yang sempit dan usang di sebuah kampung terpencil di Karawang, Jawa Barat.

“Saya mahu mengubahsuai rumah kecil ini yang ditinggalkan oleh ibu bapa saya. Saya mahu menggembirakan mereka… Saya tidak berjaya melakukannya sehinggalah hari mereka meninggal dunia.”

Di Indonesia, yang majoriti penduduknya beragama Islam, di mana hampir 10 peratus penduduk hidup di bawah paras kemiskinan, ada yang menganggap bomoh sebagai pengubat tradisional.

Aslem adalah salah seorang daripada beberapa rakyat Indonesia yang mengatakan mereka ditipu oleh orang yang mendakwa sebagai tokoh rohani, berjanji untuk menukar pelaburan kecil menjadi kekayaan yang besar.

Polis berkata sesetengah bomoh penipu ini bertindak ganas apabila mangsa mereka datang menuntut wang mereka.

Penipuan itu telah tersebar luas di media sosial Indonesia.

Didapati dua dozen siaran Facebook yang mengiklankan skim pelaburan bomoh telah diakses lebih 1.4 juta kali setakat minggu ini, menurut wartawan AFP Fact Check di Jakarta.

Dalam satu catatan, satu iklan telah diakses 643,000 kali dari 8 April hingga 17 Mei, mendakwa seorang syeikh Muslim akan membantu orang ramai melipatgandakan dana mereka, dan perkhidmatan itu tidak melanggar ajaran Islam.

Wartawan AFP menghubungi nombor WhatsApp yang dikaitkan dengan salah satu siaran dan diberitahu untuk menghantar gambar kad pengenalan mereka untuk menentukan kelayakan untuk skim “wang ajaib”.

AFP mempunyai pasukan wartawan global, termasuk di Indonesia, yang mendedahkan maklumat salah sebagai sebahagian daripada program semakan fakta pihak ketiga Facebook dan pemilik WhatsApp Meta.

Jumlah yang menarik

Selepas dia berpindah ke Dubai pada 2016, Aslem berkata dia mula bercakap dengan seorang lelaki yang disyorkan rakannya, yang mendakwa dia adalah bomoh Jawa bernama Aki Banyu.

Aslem, yang kini menjual makanan ringan dari anjung rumahnya, mengimbas kembali pertemuan pertama dengan lelaki itu semasa kepulangannya pada 2019.

Lelaki itu menyediakan upacara, membacakan mantra, dan berjanji wangnya akan berlipat ganda tidak lama lagi, katanya.

Dia kemudian mengirim sekitar 288 juta rupiah ($19,500) selepas bomoh itu berjanji untuk menukar pendapatannya kepada jumlah yang menggiurkan iaitu hampir $2 juta, katanya kepada AFP.

Polis kemudiannya mengenal pasti lelaki itu sebagai Wowon Erawan, berusia 60 tahun yang menurut mereka bekerja dengan dua rakan kongsi untuk menipu pekerja asing Indonesia supaya menghantar wang kepada mereka.

Dalam sidang akhbar Januari lalu, polis menuduh ketiga-tiga mereka membunuh sembilan orang termasuk isteri dan anak tiri Erawan bagi menutup jenayah mereka.

Polis berkata tiga lelaki itu telah ditangkap, dan mereka telah mengaku membunuh mangsa dengan minuman bercampur racun perosak.

Mereka telah merancang untuk meracuni Aslem selepas dia bertanya tentang pelaburannya pada akhir 2022, kata polis.

Lelaki itu mengatur pertemuan dengannya tetapi dia enggan pergi selepas rakannya memberitahu bahawa Erawan dan rakannya adalah penipu, menurut polis.

Ia seperti mimpi ngeri

Seorang lagi pekerja asing, ibu kepada tiga anak Neng Hana Patiningrum, memberitahu AFP dia percaya dia juga terselamat daripada kematian di tangan penipu.

Lelaki berusia 30 tahun itu menghantar lebih 100 juta rupiah kepada bomoh yang sama tetapi berhenti menghantar dana pada 2021 apabila soalannya tidak dijawab, katanya.

Dia pulang ke Indonesia tetapi tidak bertemu dengannya kerana hujan lebat.

Rakannya, Siti Fatimah, telah menjadi mangsa kepada bomoh penipu tersebut.

Dia dilaporkan hilang sebelum mayatnya ditemui di perairan berhampiran Bali pada awal 2021. Polis mengaitkan penemuan mayat itu kepada ketiga-tiga mereka.

“Saya terkejut. Bagaimana seseorang boleh menjadi begitu jahat untuk menipu wang yang kita bekerja keras untuk mendapatkan? Saya trauma,” kata Patiningrum.

Erawan insaf dan memohon maaf kepada keluarga mangsa pada sidang media polis.

Ketiga-tiga mereka berdepan hukuman mati jika didapati bersalah.

Pada April polis menahan seorang lagi tertuduh bomoh pembunuh bersiri, Slamet Tohari, 45 tahun, selepas seorang lelaki dilaporkan hilang oleh keluarganya.

Tohari mendakwa yang dia boleh melipatgandakan wang secara ajaib, dan dengan itu memikat mangsa ke dalam ritual sebelum meracuni mereka dengan kalium sianida apabila mangsa meminta wang mereka dikembalikan. – UCA News
