教宗在巴新會見青年:選擇和睦,扶持那些跌倒的人

在巴布亞新幾內亞最後一場活動中,教宗方濟各與一萬多名青年男女在莫爾斯比港的體育場進行了交流。教宗提醒他們:“你們的共同語言是心靈、愛與服務的語言。”他強調,在面對冷漠時,“內心必須有關懷他人的急切感”,如果有人跌倒,請幫助他不要一直倒在地上。

教宗方濟各9月9日在莫爾斯比港約翰·吉斯爵士體育場與上萬名巴布亞新幾內亞青年見面。這場會面很快就變成了充滿微笑、手勢和集體回應的對話。這個場地也是他主日早晨主持彌撒的地點。

心靈、愛與服務的共同語言 

在放下預先準備好的講稿後,教宗方濟各微笑著邀請青年們在分裂與和睦之間做出選擇,並提到梅瑟後裔在建造巴貝耳塔時的行為。青年們齊聲選擇了“和睦”。然後教宗提醒他們:“上主創造我們,是為了與他人保持良好的關係。”在這個擁有800多種語言的國家,教宗告訴青年們,他們需要“一種語言來幫助大家保持團結。是什麼語言呢?”有些人回答“愛”。教宗進一步澄清:“你們的共同語言是心靈的語言,愛的語言、關懷與服務的語言”,並希望“你們都能講這種語言,成為愛的‘母語人士’!”

“如果你們看到有人跌倒,請扶他站起來”

最後,教宗方濟各提出了一個他非常關心的話題:“我們每個人都可能犯錯,所有人都會犯錯。但重要的是意識到自己的錯誤,我們必須時刻改正自己。”他還提到一首登山歌:“在攀登的技巧中,重要的不是不要跌倒,而是不要倒在地上爬不起來。”教宗繼續說:“如果你們看到你們的朋友、同伴,你們同齡的人跌倒了,你們該怎麼做?你們應該關注他,幫助他站起來。記住,我們在生活中只有在一種情況下可以俯視他人,那就是幫助他站起來的時候。”

主教奧拉姆與巴新青年面臨的挑戰

在約20位身著色彩繽紛的傳統羽毛服裝的青年跳完歡迎舞後,金貝教區的主教兼青年代表若望·鮑思高·奧拉姆(John Bosco Auram)向教宗致辭。他提到,巴布亞新幾內亞青年們所面臨的最大挑戰是“在一個充滿深刻挑戰的現實中發現基督”。這些深刻挑戰包括“在家庭和社會中踐行基督信仰的價值觀、有限的成長和發展機會,以及對社會、政府甚至教會的期望落空,因而產生的各種挫折”。

三位見證者

接著,一些年輕人上前發言並向教宗分享了他們的見證。

第一位見證者是帕特里夏·哈里克寧-科爾波克(Patricia Harricknen-Korpok),她是“天主教專業人士協會”的成員。她談到在一個深受娛樂產業、社交媒體和科技影響的社會中,見證天主教信仰和倫理所面臨的挑戰。

然後,瑞安·沃魯姆(Ryan Vulum)分享了他在破碎家庭中度過的艱難童年。他表示,教會成為了他的避難所。他解釋說,巴布亞新幾內亞的許多年輕人都面臨同樣的挑戰,難以與那些分居或不在身邊的父母溝通。這通常會導致濫用藥物、非法活動,以及失去希望。

最後一位見證者是“聖母軍”的成員伯爾納德·圖爾莫尼(Bernadette Turmoni)。她談到了家庭虐待對年輕人造成的毀滅性影響。她說:“受害者感到不被愛、不被尊重,這可能會導致他們自殺或離家出走。”伯爾納德還強調了貧窮問題,儘管巴布亞新幾內亞擁有豐富的自然資源,卻有許多年輕人中途輟學,靠販毒、偷竊或行乞為生。
