Kaamatan: “Bersyukur dengan pekerjaan kita walaupun tidak hidup mewah”

Misa Kudus Kaamatan Paroki St Paul Dontozidon pada 14 Mei lalu, yang diraikan oleh Fr Sunny Chung bersama paderi-paderi dari Katedral Hati Kudus

DONTOZIDON – Paroki St Paul Dontozidon telah merayakan Misa Kudus perayaan Kaamatan peringkat paroki pada 14 Mei lalu jam 10.00 pagi di Gereja St Paul Dontozidon.

Kehadiran umat daripada KUK dan Sub Paroki Our Lady Queen Of Peace, Kobusak dan St John The Baptist, Kopungit seawal jam 9.30 pagi telah memenuhi ruangan tempat duduk di dalam gereja. Perwakilan dari Gereja Mary Immaculate telah diketuai oleh Pengerusi MPP bersama lima orang ahli yang turut serta dalam perayaan Misa Kudus.

Perayaan Misa Kaamatan Paroki ini diceriakan lagi dengan umat yang hampir semuanya mengenakan pakaian tradisi kaum Kadazan-Dusun. Di samping itu, perhiasan juga disediakan di hadapan altar iaitu alat-alat tradisional dan padi yang masih segar di dalam ‘wakid’.

Dengan adanya semangat kekitaan di kalangan umat, perpaduan yang sedia ada akan lebih terpelihara dan membantu mewujudkan keharmonian antara sesama. Kehadiran umat adalah memuaskan meskipun hanya satu per tiga sahaja yang dibenarkan mengikut SOP yang ditetapkan oleh pihak MKN.

Misa kudus tersebut dirayakan oleh Fr Sunny Chung dan dibantu oleh Fr Paul Lo selaku Rektor Paroki, dan paderi pembantu Fr Rusell Lawrine, Fr Saimon William dan Fr Joshua Liew, serta Fr Isidore Gilbert, Rektor Rumah Pembentukan Seminari.

Di dalam homilinya, Fr Sunny berkata, “Kita harus bersyukur kerana Tuhan Yesus Kristus telah memberi anakNya dan seluruh hidupNya supaya melalui kematianNya, kita mendapat kehidupan yang kekal di syurga.

“Kita juga harus bersyukur kepada Tuhan atas segala hasil tuaian dan hasil ternakan yang telah diberikan kepada kita sebagai sumber makanan fizikal atau sumber kehidupan kita.”

Sambungnya, “Kita bersyukur kepada Tuhan dengan pekerjaan yang kita terima walaupun kerja tersebut tidaklah memberi kehidupan yang mewah atau kerja yang biasa, tetapi kita bersyukur kerana dengan hasil kerja, kita dapat meneruskan hidup sambil melayani satu sama yang lain dan saling memberi dan menerima.

“Meskipun kita mempunyai banyak harta, kelebihan dan kemewahan, janganlah kita leka atau dikaburi mahupun lupa untuk mahu melihat orang-orang yang memerlukan kerana Tuhanlah yang memberi segala sesuatu dari hasil tanaman dan ternakan.”

Tambahnya lagi, “Tuhan juga yang memberi panggilan pekerjaan kepada kita, dia mengingatkan kita untuk bersyukur dengan apa yang telah Dia berikan dan jangan menjadi sombong atau tinggi diri.

“Tuhan memanggil kita untuk saling membantu dan memberi kepada mereka yang memerlukan dan yang dalam kesusahan. Selain itu, Tuhan memberi kita kelebihan atau anugerah kemurahan hati untuk membantu yang lain kerana kita dipanggil untuk bermurah hati, dapat bersyukur dan inilah caranya kita memuliakan Tuhan,” akhir kata Fr Sunny.

Sebelum Misa Kudus berakhir, Fr Paul Lo memberi ucapan ringkas tentang hidup dalam kekitaan yang sangat sesuai dalam ajaran Gereja katolik, “Yang mana pentingnya bagi kita umat Kristian Katolik hidup dalam komiti berpusatkan kepada Yesus Kristus,

“Maka sebab itulah kita merayakan Misa Kaamatan pada hari ini yang sangat sesuai dengan budaya ajaran Gereja kita,” kata Fr Paul.

Dia mengajak para umat untuk terus berdoa agar kita boleh terus hidup normal seperti sediakala sebelum adanya pandemik Covid-19. Fr Paul berharap agar umat terus bergiat aktif melayani di Gereja.

Makanan tengahari disediakan untuk umat di Dewan Paroki yang telah tersedia dalam bekas makanan.
