KOTA KINABALU – Solemnity of Sacred Heart of Jesus was celebrated through a series of Spiritual and social activities that captivate the hearts of all age levels.

The Sacred Heart Feast spiritual preparation started with Triduum to Sacred Heart on Jun 3-5 in three languages (English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia) on separate day conducted by parish priest and his assistants in rotation. The priests gave their reflection on the gospel related to Jesus being crucified for the love of sinners and salvation of souls.
On Jun 7, 10.00 am, during the mass of Solemnity of Sacred Heart also the day for Sanctification of priests, Kota Kinabalu archdiocese welcomes the first priest from Manggatal Good Shepherd Parish, Fr Jerry Joseph Muhamat.
On Jun 7 evening, the youth led the Global Rosary Relay for the Sanctification of priest in three languages in rotation. At the end of the rosary, the baton was passed to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Pillar in Spain.
Parish Family Day on Jun 8 started with praise and worship to warm up the hearts of the participants. About 300 people from families of different languages and cultural background interacted through fun games and activities.
About hundred youth turned up for the Parish Youth Worship Night on Jun 8 evening.
OCDS (secular Carmelites), one of the thirty-seven groups that participated in the Parish Bazaar on Jun 9 from 7.00 am till 2.00 pm to raise fund for the upgrading the parish centre. With the cooperation of all the groups, the parish has successfully raised the target fund of RM 25K.
