Hayati makna Ekaristi dalam perayaan Corpus Christi

RANAU – Umat Katolik di Gereja St Peter Claver Ranau (SPCR) diraikan dalam Misa Kudus Hari Raya Tubuh dan Darah Kristus pada 7 Jun 2026, dengan paderi paroki SPCR, Fr Ambrose M Atang, menyeru umat agar lebih menghayati makna Ekaristi sebagai pusat kehidupan iman dan lambang kasih Tuhan yang menyelamatkan manusia.

Perayaan yang berlangsung di gereja tersebut dihadiri ramai umat paroki. Selepas Misa Kudus, sambutan diteruskan dengan Perarakan Ekaristi mengelilingi bangunan gereja sebagai tanda penghormatan dan kesaksian iman terhadap kehadiran sebenar Kristus dalam Sakramen Mahakudus.

Dalam homilinya, Fr Ambrose menjelaskan bahawa Hari Raya Tubuh dan Darah Kristus mengingatkan umat akan sabda Yesus dalam Injil menyatakan bahawa Dia adalah “Roti Kehidupan” yang turun dari syurga dan sesiapa yang makan tubuhNya serta minum darahNya akan memperoleh kehidupan kekal.

Beliau berkata, pemahaman mengenai Ekaristi tidak dapat dipisahkan daripada sejarah keselamatan yang dirancang Tuhan sejak zaman Perjanjian Lama lagi.

Menurutnya, umat Israel pada zaman dahulu mempersembahkan korban anak domba sebagai tanda penyembahan kepada Tuhan dan untuk memohon pengampunan dosa. Namun korban tersebut hanyalah bersifat sementara dan menjadi bayangan kepada korban sempurna yang akan datang melalui Yesus Kristus.

“Dalam Perjanjian Lama, darah dan daging anak domba digunakan dalam upacara korban sebagai tanda perjanjian antara Tuhan dan umatNya. Namun, semuanya itu hanyalah persiapan kepada rancangan keselamatan yang lebih sempurna yang akan dilaksanakan oleh Tuhan sendiri,” katanya.

Fr Ambrose menjelaskan bahawa sepanjang sejarah keselamatan, Tuhan mengutus para nabi dan pemimpin umat untuk membimbing manusia kembali kepadaNya selepas kejatuhan manusia ke dalam dosa.

Beliau berkata, kemuncak rancangan keselamatan itu terlaksana melalui kedatangan Yesus Kristus, yang mengorbankan diriNya di kayu salib demi penebusan dosa seluruh umat manusia.

“Tuhan tidak lagi meminta manusia mempersembahkan korban anak domba. Sebaliknya, Tuhan sendiri memberikan PuteraNya sebagai korban yang sempurna untuk menyelamatkan dunia. Yesus menjadi Anak Domba Tuhan yang menghapuskan dosa dunia,” katanya.

Mengulas mengenai Perjamuan Terakhir, Fr Ambrose berkata peristiwa yang berlaku pada malam sebelum Yesus disalibkan itu menjadi asas kepada Sakramen Ekaristi yang diraikan oleh Gereja hingga ke hari ini.

Beliau mengingatkan umat bahawa apabila Yesus mengambil roti dan berkata, ‘Inilah TubuhKu’, serta mengambil piala dan berkata, ‘Inilah DarahKu’, Dia menyerahkan diriNya sepenuhnya demi keselamatan manusia.

“Ekaristi bukan sekadar simbol atau kenangan semata-mata. Ia adalah pemberian diri Kristus kepada umatNya. Melalui Komuni Kudus, kita dipersatukan dengan Kristus dan menerima rahmat untuk hidup sebagai pengikutNya,” katanya.

Beliau turut menggesa umat agar tidak hanya menghadiri Misa Kudus sebagai satu kewajipan, tetapi berusaha memahami makna mendalam di sebalik setiap perayaan Ekaristi yang diraikan.

Menurutnya, penerimaan Tubuh dan Darah Kristus menuntut umat untuk hidup dalam kasih, perpaduan dan kesetiaan kepada ajaran Gereja.

Selepas Misa Kudus, umat mengambil bahagian dalam Perarakan Ekaristi yang mengelilingi bangunan gereja sambil diiringi nyanyian pujian dan doa-doa penyembahan.

Perarakan tersebut menjadi lambang penghormatan umat kepada Kristus yang hadir dalam Sakramen Mahakudus serta satu kesaksian iman kepada masyarakat sekeliling.

Hari Raya Tubuh dan Darah Kristus merupakan antara perayaan penting dalam kalendar liturgi Gereja Katolik yang menegaskan kepercayaan terhadap kehadiran sebenar Yesus Kristus dalam Ekaristi.
