First reading 2 Corinthians 11:18,21-30

If I am to boast, let me boast of my own feebleness

So many others have been boasting of their worldly achievements, that I will boast myself. But if anyone wants some brazen speaking – I am still talking as a fool – then I can be as brazen as any of them, and about the same things. Hebrews, are they? So am I. Israelites? So am I. Descendants of Abraham? So am I. The servants of Christ? I must be mad to say this, but so am I, and more than they: more, because I have worked harder, I have been sent to prison more often, and whipped many times more, often almost to death. Five times I had the thirty-nine lashes from the Jews; three times I have been beaten with sticks; once I was stoned; three times I have been shipwrecked and once adrift in the open sea for a night and a day. Constantly travelling, I have been in danger from rivers and in danger from brigands, in danger from my own people and in danger from pagans; in danger in the towns, in danger in the open country, danger at sea and danger from so-called brothers. I have worked and laboured, often without sleep; I have been hungry and thirsty and often starving; I have been in the cold without clothes. And, to leave out much more, there is my daily preoccupation: my anxiety for all the churches. When any man has had scruples, I have had scruples with him; when any man is made to fall, I am tortured.

If I am to boast, then let me boast of my own feebleness.

Gospel Matthew 6:19-23

Store up treasure for yourselves in heaven

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moths and woodworms destroy them and thieves can break in and steal. But store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor woodworms destroy them and thieves cannot break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

‘The lamp of the body is the eye. It follows that if your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light. But if your eye is diseased, your whole body will be all darkness. If then, the light inside you is darkness, what darkness that will be!’

Reflection
2 Corinthians 11:18, 21-30, Matthew 6:19-23

“A heart for God, a heart for others”
“For wherever your treasure is, there will your heart be too”: As we reflect on today’s gospel, let us ponder and ask ourselves, “Where is my treasure?” This is a fundamental question because we give our hearts to whoever and whatever we place great value upon. More often than not, we place people and our relationships with them, rather than material things, as our greatest treasures. Jesus calls us to set our hearts on God and that our friendship with Him to be the greatest treasure above all other treasures. It is only when God is at the center of our lives that we truly know how to love others as we should. Instead of loving with the need to control or possess others, we learn to love them with God’s love that is unconditional, faithful, just and truthful. It is God who opens and expands our hearts to others.

Question for reflection:
Is God my greatest treasure?

“Hati untuk Tuhan, hati untuk sesame”
“Kerana dimana hartamu berada, di situ hatimu berada”: Saat merenungkan injil hari ini, marilah berfikir dan bertanya pada diri kita, “Dimana harta saya?” Ini adalah persoalan asas kerana kita memberikan hati kita kepada siapapun dan apapun yang kita hargai. Seringkali, kita menempatkan orang dan hubungan bersama berbanding harta benda. Sebagai harta terbesar kita, Yesus memanggil kita untuk menetapkan hati kita pada Tuhan sehingga persahabatan kita denganNya menjadi harta terbesar diantara harta yang lain. Hanya dengan menjadikan Tuhan sebagai pusat hidup kita yang terutama, kita tahu bagaimana mengasihi orang lain. Kita tidak lagi mengasihi mereka dengan cara mengawal dan menguasai mereka, tetapi kita belajar mengasihi mereka dengan kasih Tuhan yang tidak terbatas, setia, adil dan benar. Tuhanlah yang membuka dan meluaskan hati kita untuk menerima orang lain.

“Ati Allah Taala, ati ka orang bukai.”
“Laban dia alai pengaya kita, dia meh alai ati kita.” Lebuh kitai belematika Injil saritu, aram kitai berati sereta mansik diri empu, “Dini alai pengaya aku?” Tanya tu amat beguna laban kitai sigi meri ati kitai ba endur ti diguna ba kitai. Taja pia, kitai suah agi angkun ka reta pengaya ari kaul enggau orang bukai.

Jesus ngangau kitai awak ngengkah ka ati kitai ba Allah Taala sereta kaul kitai enggau Iya nyadi reta pengaya ti besai enggau jauh berega agi ari atas semua. Semina ari nya kitai amat ulih nemu jalai rindu ka orang bukai naka ka patut. Kitai anang sekali deka ngatur tauka ngembuan orang bukai, tang kitai ulih rindu ka sida ngena pengerindu Allah Taala ti nadai betakat, meruan talok, lurus sereta pemendar. Allah Taala meh ti diau dalam kitai sereta muka ati kitai awak ulih ngenatai diri ngagai orang bukai.

Bisi aku bejadi ka Allah Taala reta pengaya aku?

«玛六:19-23»

” 对天主的爱，对他人的爱”
“因為你的財寶在那裏，你的心也必在那裏”：正当我们反省今天的福音章节时，让我们思考和问问自己：“ 我的财寶在哪里？” 这是一个最基本的问题因为我们的心专注在何人或何物，那里就是我们最大的財寶。很多的时候，我们必须与别人建立爱的友谊关系，多过物质的东西，作为我们最大的财富。

耶稣呼召我们将我们的心专注在天主的身上，与祂建立爱的友谊成为最重要的財宝，胜过其他所有财宝。只有当天主是我们生活中心时，我们才能够真正的知道如何爱别人。我们的爱不再是以控制或拥有他人的爱，而是学会用天主的爱即是无条件、忠实、诚实和忠诚的爱去爱他们。是天主敞开我们的心扉去爱其他人。

省思题：
天主是我最大的财富吗？
