KOTA KINABALU – Caritas Kota Kinabalu will introduce and promote understanding of Caritas in Malaysia especially in Kota Kinabalu Archdiocese through an online orientation.
Spiritual Adviser Fr Gilbert Marcus said the Caritas KK Committee is extending invitation to all parish priests under the Archdiocese and four other parish representatives to join the orientation.
As a commitment to work in a more holistic way to revitalize social mission in KK Archdiocese, Fr Marcus said the invitation is also extended to one or two representatives from the Archdiocesan commissions, governmental and non-governmental organizations in Sabah.
In his letter of invitation, Fr Marcus said one of the objectives of this orientation is to help and encourage each parish to form a Caritas committee as their social mission arm.
The orientation will be held on two separate days through Zoom Meeting; Feb 27 in English and March 6 in Bahasa Malaysia, both at 8.30am-1.00pm.
At the Caritas KK inaugural gathering Dec 19, 2020 in Penampang, 19 identified social issues in Sabah were briefly discussed and Fr Marcus said they will be looked into again during the online orientation.
The committee aims to focus on the top three to five social issues to begin with in Sabah.
