KOTA KINABALU – The Lunar New Year is not only a celebration, but also a cultural inheritance and emotional sustenance. It is a day to celebrate new beginnings and hope, the achievements of the past year while also setting new goals and plans for the future. Lunar New Year – is a time of reunion, reflection, celebration and blessing.
In line with this year’s Lunar New Year theme “Dragon and Phoenix, Harmony and Sharing”, Shan Tao Kindergarten had successfully held a Chinese New Year Celebration at the Sacred Heart Church Parish Hall on Feb 3, 2024. On that day, Fr Paul Lo, Christopher Voo, Chairman of the Board of Directors and its members, parents, students, and teachers gathered and celebrate together.
The program at the event was happening and exciting, including drumming, dancing, and awards to the winners of the Chinese New Year craft competition. The scene was extremely lively with the distribution of red packets and gifts.

Among them, the performances by the Nan Bang Lion Dance, including pile jumping and lion dance made the children clap their hands excitedly, and parents also took photos of their children with the lion dancers.
The Chinese New Year celebration came to an end and Voo led the closing prayer. The kindergarten expressed its deep gratitude to the parents for taking the time to participate in the school’s Chinese New Year event.
Wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!
