KUALA LUMPUR – The English and Bahasa Malaysia Bible groups of the Church of the Risen Christ recently welcomed parishioners and catechism students to a Bible-sharing session centred on the inspiring story of Ruth and Naomi. Through this journey of faith, love and loyalty, participants discovered how the timeless wisdom of Scripture continues to guide and strengthen us amid the challenges of everyday life.
Participants were encouraged to bring their own Bibles as they read, reflected and grew together in God’s living Word.
A highlight of the gathering was the Community Scripture Board, where parishioners were invited to write and share a Bible verse that has touched their lives. Together, these verses created a vibrant visual expression of the parish’s shared faith journey, reminding everyone that God’s Word remains alive and active in our daily lives. The completed board will remain on display as a source of inspiration and reflection for both catechism students and parishioners.
The organisers hope the initiative will encourage families to make reading and reflecting on Scripture a regular part of their home life. By gathering around God’s Word, families can find guidance, hope and wisdom for every season of life.
The parish also expressed its appreciation to Msgr James Gnanapiragasam and the Kuala Lumpur Archdiocesan Bible Apostolate (KLABA) team for their encouragement and support in promoting Bible study within the parish.
The gathering provided an opportunity for families to deepen their faith, strengthen their love for Scripture, and grow closer to God and to one another. – Herald Malaysia
